1 Château pour 1 Artiste ENDOWMENT FUND

The 1 Château pour 1 Artiste project was set up in 2009-2010 within the endowment fund of the same name.

In France, a Fonds de dotation or endowment fund is a non-profit-making legal entity governed by private law, like all voluntary associations, and which in addition is able to receive contributions from corporate patronage as it has been identified as being of general interest. The basis of this definition is the French Law on the Modernisation of the Economy of 4 August 2008 (Articles 140 and 141 of law no. 2008-776 of 4 August 2008).

The purpose of the 1 Château pour 1 Artiste endowment fund is to promote the visual arts by linking them up with our cultural heritage. The endowment fund collects contributions from patrons in order to support artists from our own administrative Department and Region. The declared aim of the fund is to organise events of general interest that can help contemporary local artists become more widely known to the general public and promote their work anywhere, whether public or private, that is open to the general population.

Anne Gombault, Head of the Arts, Culture and Management in Europe Chair at BEM-Bordeaux Management School, is President of the endowment fund. She is responsible for the strategic development of the project, working in conjunction with the ART&COM association, an agency that promotes communication through art, and puts this strategy into operation.
